Assemble3
Make games in your browser, no code

Assemble3: free 2D & 3D game engine for the web.

Assemble3 (also written Assemble 3) is a game maker that runs right in your browser: build scenes by dragging objects in, bring them to life with ready-made behaviors and write the rules of your game as visual events — no programming required.

Nothing to install. Works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Exports to HTML5.

What is Assemble3?

Assemble3 is a web game engine: a complete 2D and 3D game editor that opens in the browser, with nothing to install. Game logic is built from events — conditions and actions picked from lists — so you can make platformers, top-down action games, puzzles and physics games without knowing how to code.

It is a fork of GDevelop, the open-source game engine used by millions of people. It keeps the same engine, the same behaviors and the same export, with a rebuilt editor interface that has one goal: making game creation easier and more intuitive for learners — students, teachers and first-time game makers.

Fewer screens, less jargon, more focus on the game. The editor opens in Portuguese by default and can be switched to English. See what people have made in the gallery of games made with Assemble3.

An interface you already know

If you have used another web game engine, you will feel at home: the project bar on the right with layouts, event sheets, object types, layers and families; properties on the left; the layout in the middle; and an event sheet of conditions and actions, one row per rule.

Coming from another tool, you switch editors without relearning. Just starting out, you learn a way of thinking that works in any engine.

Everything you need to make 2D and 3D games

Everything GDevelop offers, organized so you can find it.

Events instead of code

Pick an object, a condition and the actions. The game's logic stays readable for everyone on the team.

Ready-made behaviors

Platformer, top-down movement, physics, drag and drop, tweening, projectiles and more — just add them to an object.

2D and 3D

Sprites, text, particles, tiled sprites, shapes and 3D models in the same layout, with layers and effects.

Instant preview

Test a layout or the whole project in one click, in the browser or on your local network, with no waiting for a build.

HTML5 export

Generate an HTML5 game that runs in any browser and publish it wherever you like — including the Assemble3 gallery.

Draw inside the editor

A built-in image and animation editor: create your game's sprites without leaving the project.

How it works

Three steps from an idea to your first playable game.

Create your account

An account keeps your projects and tracks what you have made. It takes a minute.

Open the editor

Start from a blank project or an example. Add objects, behaviors and events.

Play and publish

Preview at any time and, when it is ready, publish the game to the gallery or export it for the web.

Frequently asked questions

Are Assemble3 and Assemble 3 the same thing?

Yes. The name is Assemble3, written as one word, but many people write Assemble 3 — it is the same game engine, at this same address.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Game logic is made of conditions and actions picked from lists that read like a sentence: “when the player touches the coin, delete the coin”.

Is Assemble3 free?

Yes, to start: the editor opens in the browser with nothing to install, and a free account keeps your projects in the cloud.

Is it available in English?

The editor opens in Portuguese (Brazil) by default and can be switched to English. The rest of the site — accounts, gallery and classroom tools — is in Portuguese for now.

Where do my games run?

Exported games are HTML5: they run in any browser and can be published to the Assemble3 gallery. The editor also creates Electron (desktop) and Cordova (mobile) projects to build with your own tools.

Can I use it in a classroom?

Yes. With a teacher account you create classes and student accounts (even without an e-mail address) and send a project to the whole class.
